MORRO BAY, California — November 2, 2026. Morro Bay has released a public review draft of the update to its Waterfront Master Plan, a document shaping the long-term vision for land use, circulation and infrastructure along the waterfront. The city is inviting community feedback at a fourth workshop planned for November 17, 2026.
What the city is updating
According to the city’s Waterfront Master Plan page, $750,000 in grant funding is supporting an update to the 1996 plan. The document is part of the City’s Local Coastal Program. It offers conceptual development guidance for waterfront planning areas and is not an approval of every potential project or change discussed in workshops.
Public outreach so far
The city’s project page documents community workshops held November 18, 2025, February 25, 2026 and May 18, 2026. The planned fourth workshop on November 17 is intended to present the public review draft and gather additional feedback.
How residents can participate
Read the full public review draft from the city project website, review the workshop materials and contact the Community Development Department for meeting details and comment procedures. A public draft may change before final adoption, so it should not be treated as a completed regulatory amendment.
