November 6 update: November 5 count
Official source generated November 5, 2026, at 4:55:31 p.m. Pacific. The report lists two council seats and two named candidates. Landrum has 219 more votes; these totals do not describe a one-seat elimination between the two. The separate mayoral tally lists Carla L. Wixom at 2,654 votes.
| Candidate | Votes |
|---|---|
| Robin “Zara” Landrum | 2,054 |
| Mike Gerson | 1,835 |
These are preliminary results. Further valid ballots and canvass review can change totals and rankings. Reported precinct completion does not mean every eligible ballot has been processed. This update was published November 6 and uses the November 5 source snapshot.

Earlier dated reporting
MORRO BAY, SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — November 4, 2026. Robin “Zara” Landrum is ahead of Mike Gerson in Morro Bay’s City Council race, while Carla Wixom is the only named mayoral candidate in the overnight report.
Preliminary vote
The November 4 results list Landrum with 1,947 votes (52.9%) and Gerson with 1,734 (47.1%), a difference of 213 votes. In the separate mayoral contest, Carla L. Wixom has 2,516 candidate votes and no competing named candidate.
What the numbers mean
The council and mayoral ballots are separate. A 100% candidate share in an unopposed contest is not 100% of all registered voters. Both races remain unofficial until canvassing and certification.
Source and reporting cutoff
The San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder published its fourth unofficial results report on November 4, 2026; the linked results compilation is stamped 1:55 a.m. Pacific on November 4. Further vote-by-mail and other eligible ballots may be added. Reporting a leading candidate or a ballot-measure majority does not constitute official certification.
